The
upper south end, and portion of the west side, of the GRANITE PLUG which completely
blocks the lower end of the First Ascending Passage in the Great Pyramid of
Gizeh; showing two of the series of three great stones, hidden in the masonry
for three thousand years, and exposed by Caliph Al Mamoun in the course of his
excavations in the year 820 A.D.
